TAC at the Toronto Halal Bites Festival - Artist Application Information:
TAC is excited to offer artists the opportunity to rent space in a 20'x20' booth at the prestigious Toronto Halal Bites Festival, located at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto. This event provides an affordable and high-profile platform for artists to showcase their work.
Important Details:

Space is Limited: Booths will be assigned to approved artists who submit their application and payment by the deadline.

Application Review: TAC's board will review all applications to ensure they meet the criteria listed below. Approved applicants will receive an email confirmation.

Webinar for Artists: A webinar will be held during the first week of May (date to be announced) to guide artists on best practices for wrapping, presenting, and hanging their art.

Craft Tables: Limited craft tables may be available, depending on space.

Artwork Requirements:

All artwork must be created on gallery-depth canvas or wooden board with finished sides (either framed or painted).

Artwork should align with moral and Islamic guidelines—no haram objects or nudity.

Labeling: Each artwork must be securely labeled on the back with the artist's name, title of the piece, size, and price.

Social Media Engagement:

Artists must make weekly posts about participating in the TAC art tent at the Halal Bites Festival.

Shipping & Packaging:
-
Please ensure your artwork is wrapped properly for transportation back and forth even if you are bringing it yourself.

For sales of your item, please let us know if you have your own supplies or if you need TAC to provide supplies for an additional cost.

Social Media Promotion:

By providing your social media handles, you are granting TAC permission to promote your artwork at the event.

Membership: All artists must be members of TAC at the time of application. Please sign up to become a member.
Important Dates:

April 15th: Acceptance emails sent to selected artists

April 17th: Payment due via E-transfer (instructions provided in acceptance email)

HOW TO GET YOUR ARTWORK READY:
Please research how to add the D-hooks and wire behind your artwork to ensure they are ready to hang on a wall or grid. When transporting your artwork, ensure it is wrapped securely with your corners protected.

TYPES OF TAC EVENTS:
OUTDOOR ART SHOWS
TAC will hold art shows or become part of existing art shows to enable Muslim artists to showcase their art under a unified banner.
Shows will be in a tent setting within a festival that TAC partners up with.
INDOOR EXHIBITIONS
TAC will be renting galleries and displaying artists' work in exhibitions and creating a dedicated team to arrange this aspect of events.
This team requires some people who have a good eye for indoor space set up and ideally have curator experience.
