Abdul Khaliq Ansari | Summer Haze
Abdul Khaliq is a painter whose work explores representational realism through landscapes and everyday scenes shaped by memory and lived experience. Working with a restrained palette of muted, earthy tones, he creates atmospheric compositions that capture transitional moments, especially dawn and dusk, where light softens form and invites quiet reflection. His practice is guided by an intuitive, meditative process, building layered surfaces that evoke depth, stillness, and emotional resonance.
Raised in Pakistan’s North-West Frontier Province, with formative years in Lahore and continued practice in Canada, his work reflects an evolving relationship to place, light, and seasonal change. Motivated by subtle shifts in environment and mood, painting serves as both catharsis and contemplation. His work offers viewers a space for pause, encouraging personal connection through silence, atmosphere, and a restrained sense of optimism.“Summer Haze” shows a quiet summer landscape softened by mist, with a large tree rising from a field of green, charcoal, and muted earth tones. The foreground is layered with rich texture, while the background fades gently into pale haze, creating depth and a sense of
stillness. Rooted in realism with an atmospheric, tonal approach, the work captures the calm of early light and the subtle mood of the season. Its softened palette and gentle quality suggest quiet reflection and a peaceful, restorative atmosphere.
