Hanadi Bader | One Day
Born in Hebron, Palestine, in 1975, Hanadi Bader is a Palestinian artist whose work is inspired by her heritage, lived experiences, and commitment to preserving cultural memory through art. She began drawing at a young age and later received a scholarship to attend the Palestine Academy of Arts, where she completed her formal education before joining the Academy as a lecturer. Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Hanadi creates expressive, symbolic paintings that explore themes of identity, resilience, and hope. Throughout her career, she has held solo exhibitions across the UAE, Jordan, Turkey, Palestine, and Canada, including exhibitions at the Art Gallery of London. She continues to use her art to celebrate Palestinian culture, support humanitarian causes, and advocate for justice through exhibitions, charity auctions, and community initiatives.
One Day explores the deep connection between identity and homeland. A solitary child stands among vibrant Palestinian poppies, looking toward Jerusalem and the Dome of the Rock, expressing both memory and the longing to return. The dreamlike landscape symbolizes emotional connection rather than physical distance, reflecting the universal desire for home, belonging, and peace, while recognizing the resilience carried through memory and hope.
