Afraa Khan | I will answer you

Afraa is a self-taught artist based in Milton, Ontario, whose work is mostly inspired by landscapes. She primarily works with acrylic paint, but also has a passion for digital art and graphic design. Her goal is to capture the beauty of the natural world with every art piece through her use of colour and detail.

The landscape portion of this painting is very commonly seen here in Canada and around North America. The mountains in the background are inspired by a recent trip to New York, where I saw tall mountains covered in trees. The lake and trees are inspired by scenery I’ve seen hiking in the Halton region. I have lived in Canada my whole life while also being Muslim. When I think of peace and the beauty of God’s creation, the Canadian landscape is what I think of. In the planning process of creating my painting, I thought there wouldn’t be a better way to express the tranquility and power of prayer than through the scenery of our own beautiful country.
