Sanober Shameem | "khudi' an Allama Iqbal Inspiration
Art has been a lifelong passion, offering me peace, fulfillment, and a deep sense of expression. I studied various art courses in high school and aspired to pursue it as a career before stepping into family life. My creative journey was reignited during the COVID-19 pandemic when I studied Islamic geometric art at the Global Center of Islamic Art. This experience strengthened my artistic voice and deepened my appreciation for traditional forms. I now explore diverse mediums, integrating classical techniques with contemporary approaches, to create work that reflects both cultural heritage and personal interpretation.
his piece combines Islamic geometry with the words of Allama Iqbal. "خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے / خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے" (Raise yourself to such heights that before every destiny, God Himself will ask, what is it that you desire)The intricate patterns reflect harmony and divine order, while the poetry reminds us to elevate the self through faith, strength, and purpose.
