Through her innovative use of thread and fabric alongside acrylic paint, she creates layered compositions that invite viewers to engage with texture, colour, and emotion. Mehreen Hasan continues to explore the intersections of material, form, and storytelling, offering work that resonates on both intimate and universal levels, connecting audiences with the shared threads of human experience.Chalkiada Waters is inspired by the dynamic currents of the Chalkiada River, captured directly on site. The painting reflects the movement and energy of the water, with boats gently integrated into the composition. Vertical and horizontal lines interact across the canvas, echoing the natural flow and rhythm of the currents. Through careful observation, the work conveys both the power and tranquillity of the river, celebrating the subtle patterns and phenomena created by its movement. Chalkiada Waters invites viewers to experience the ever-changing dialogue between water, light, and environment, translating a fleeting natural moment into a lasting visual impression.
