Rabia Kazmi | Keeper of Time

I created this pastel portrait as a quiet moment of reflection. Rather than chasing detail, I allowed my drawing to lead me, trusting instinct and feeling. Working with soft pastels on canvas gives me freedom, especially in layering light, shadow, and emotion. I was drawn to the calm strength and lived experience in the face, letting the marks remain loose and expressive. The gentle greens and blues helped me create a sense of stillness and connection with nature. Drawing is my first love, and this work reflects my ongoing exploration of mood, memory, and inner presence through portraiture.
